神经节苷脂是酸性鞘糖脂,其在细胞质膜的外部小叶中形成脂筏,特别是在中枢神经系统的神经元细胞中。它们参与细胞增殖、分化、粘附、信号转导、细胞间相互作用、肿瘤发生和转移,神经节苷脂的积累与几种疾病有关。神经节苷脂GD1b可作为细菌毒素受体(破伤风、肉毒杆菌),在胶质瘤和星形细胞瘤中数量高,它可调节蛋白激酶活性。在体内和体外,它与内酯结构处于平衡状态。
