皮质酮是由肾上腺皮质分泌的一种糖皮质激素，由促肾上腺皮质激素（ACTH）刺激肾上腺产生。研究证明体内皮质酮的水平与应激相关，长期记忆恢复损伤和烧伤时皮质酮水平升高。除应激外，皮质酮还在睡眠模式中发挥着重要的作用。
